Wow! 2017... 13 years ago I was over-my-head busy as a political officer for my University (just to get a paycheck from the central office to blow on Chinese food and sometimes afford my course materials without asking for parental help). The exact title varied. Vice-President, Secretary, etc., but always something executive for the Off-Campus and Commuter Association, since I never lived on campus. Dealing with other people is not my strong point, but I tried to learn from some of those around me.
Next semester (or is it the one after? Admittedly I don't really understand how the trimester system works because I've had fall and spring for so long I don't really know but probably) I was invited to live on campus in Britain (I live in the US at the present - in Pennsylvania) so I won't be able to resume my role with the organisation I mentioned at the beginning of this comment. :/ However, I went to all the meetings and held almost all the fundraisers. I think that the lady who was in charge changed roles too so it might be that nobody really remembers me any more. D: Such is the way with politics, I suppose, right? Always changing to a new face. I mean, theoretically I could, but the off-campus nature of my next move would be off my undergraduate campus, right? And I am applying for a graduate degree. I can't even remember for what right now, let me check my files... Um... Oh, it looks like I asked for Chinese! Hahaha. I might be medium-okay with political-science, rather. ._. IDK IDK IDK
Anyway, I have read a book from the library about the conflict between the Australian people and First Nations people about fifteen years ago. *trying not to feel old, because it takes that amount of time to formulate a good research project, right?* I hope that it gets better for you and everyone else over there soon! ^^
